Scheduling newly ordered aircraft?

I ordered two new planes from Boeing and MD directly and it won't let me schedule them to the routes I want? It also wont let me give it a tail number or it wont even show up on my scheduling screen? Do you have to wait until the aircraft is delivered  to schedule it and name it?

Your aircraft will be available for route scheduling 3 weeks  prior to the actual delivery date. You can see the 'pre-delivery' state aircraft with yellow color coding on both Scheduling and Aircraft on order pages.
