Well I'd be flying Star Alliance all the way.

The best Airline One World has is Cathy Pacific and that isn't the top.

Also when did Qantas ever fly Los Angeles to Auckland?

Sorry to correct you but Cathay was voted by Skytrax as the top airline of the world in 2009, above Singapore.

And Qantas has been flying LAX-Auckland for a while now.

I think SkyTeam is the best, Star Alliance is simply too big and KLM is in SkyTeam.
I also think SkyTeam has the best livery!

Iberia is a part of oneworld, not one sky. :P

BA = British Airways, correct? Isn't that also a part of oneworld?

Nice plane btw. :) Which manufacturer is it from? Herpa? Hogan Wings? Jemini?

okay, oneworld, not one sky (looked it up 5times, but everytime read sth. else, and forgot again!! :-[ :-[

well, BA in oneworld??..... okay, glanced at their web site, AF is in SkyTeam :( another miss pull! at least LH, and UA are even founding members of Star Alliance!!
so I must withdraw, the HATE against oneworld, so I only keep HATING Iberia (very bad comfort/service!!)

It's none of them!! It's a boeing!!! ;D ;D ;D

no, just kidding, It's a Herpa! (costed 17,95€ 2yrs ago!!)
It's located just above my desktop on the windowsill, so I look at it every time I look up from AWS!!

Star Alliance - all airlines in Star Alliance I flew with were GREAT. SkyTeam still have some terrible airlines like CSA...

Dude what is wrong with CSA (if I forget about their financial situation right now)? Since they are our national carrier I flew with them like six or seven times and I was greatly satisfied.

High price, low service, bad cabin crew (I don't need to listen FA saying "Tohle je hrozný" after somebody ask him for another drink).

High price is right but can't agree with the service and crew. But it really depends on the "luck you have". I was flying with several carriers and I never had any bad experience while I heard people complain about all of them.

Service is poor! Food is terrible, seating too. CC - well, it maybe depends, but generally it's not good...

Compare CSA with Air Berlin or FlyNiki and you found that their prices are not reasonable.

To all those oneworld fans saying Quality quality.....  S7, (my employer) A Russian airline, is getting ready to join oneworld at an invitation of BA. Since I work at S7 in the PR department, I can tell you that although we fly with those limegreen Boeings and Airbusses, (we recently sold our Tupolev 154 and Il86), the structure behind the scenes is FAR from the quality standard any oneworld member has.

I suspect that the only reason why oneworld invited S7 is because we are the second Russian airline and with Aeroflot being in SkyTeam already, S7 was the fastest and easiest way for oneworld to connect their network to the rapidly expanding Russian market. Which is fine. Brilliant move in my opinion but those quality standards are one very big farce :)

Seriously you work in PR?? great way in promoting your airline!!!
I guess that Oneworld needs to share it's know how once you get in!!!

Usually favourite airlines= Airline's alliance being chosen.

I do love flying Cathay and since i'm an Asia Miles Member i usually tend to choose oneworld carriers thus making oneworld the perfect alliance.

But at the same time I am member of Air France - KLM flying blue which gives me a lot of miles when travelling around Europe.
AF,KL,AZ.

I'm also member of LH's miles and more. Although i don't like Star Alliances way of accrediting miles with partner airlines it just sucks. Especially if you're a Kris flyer member.

Over all it's comodity that matters. Every alliance has weaknesses but at the same time they are strong in certain areas.

Over all I like Oneworld more coz it covers all the globe, including Australia and South America!!

Food is great? Seating - did you ever flew OK050 (RIP)? Some of their ATRs have extremly uncomfortable seats too.

Well not really no. But I was thinking you are talking about this ancient plane  ;D  Well yes, OK050 and OK051 were old and I heard a lot about them.
But I never flew with them and as much I can tell from other routes I was always highly satisfied :)

And yes food is great. I always enjoyed it so much especialy when compared to other airlines :)

I don't care aslong as it is on time. Personally I prefere to fly Easyjet. Why should I pay 99 euro's for a BA flight, when I can get the same flight, in the same AC type for a 60% lower fare....

Giving this thread a nice BUMP (and it should be in OT forum, not general), I firmly believe that *A is the best alliance from a consumer point of view. *A status gives far more uniform benifits than the other carriers, and it is big enough that you can travel from and to most places while staying within the alliance.
