Low pax RQ between WAS-MIA
« on: May 28, 2009, 05:51:40 AM »
Hi Sami,

I was checking routes out of Washington, and i see that pax RQ from washington to miami is only 200pax/day, it sounds to me a very low figure ???

Is this accurate ?

Regards

Yep. It's accurate all right. Actually, even a bit high. Shuttle America (on behalf of United) operates twice daily 6F/64Y E-170s. Other options are indirect.

American also has one 738 on the route per day. I am also surprised that route is so low demand.

probably because most traffic flies BWI-FLL on either WN or FL

Hard to model in the sim, but Florida has shifting demand.  During the summer/fall, Shuttle America will fly Embraers on the Florida routes, but during winter/spring, they'll use the Airbus.  Delta uses Mad Dogs on a lot of their summer/fall routes to Florida, but 757s on their winter/spring Florida routes (they just switched back to the MDs this week).

So if it's June or July in the sim, then 200 is about right.  If it's November/December, then 750 is about right.
