Does Configuration actually affect PAX demand?
« on: May 20, 2009, 06:56:05 AM »
If I configure an a/c with long range seats will it increase demand for my route?  Also, will I be able to compensate the lost revenue (due to lower seat density) by charging higher ticket prices?

This may seem like a dumb question but I have wondered for quite a while if it makes a difference.

Currently and at least for practical purposes it doesn't. I wish it did, it would make the game so much more interesting. Currently I configure my short-haul planes with all high-density seats even in C and F. With long-haul fleet the number of passengers is often limited by range, so I can't cram them full of crappy seats.

It's there but the effect is too small at the moment and the daily variation / other factors make it look rather nonexistent..

Thank you.  I kind of suspected that was the case.
