US - Europe routes pax RQ
« on: April 28, 2009, 07:04:40 AM »
Hi everybody,

Did anyone else noticed big difference between the outgoing flights from USA to europe compared to the return flights ? I've opened a few routes today from Washington to Europe, and the return flights all have around 40% less pax request than the outgoing flights ?

Is this normal or is it a bug, as we had in previous games with african and south american routes ???

Regards...

Yep. Been noticing the same things too (from Toronto). Although it didn't seem so much from Vancouver.

difference shouldn't be more than 10-20% max. Which routes are these?

There's quite a few out of Toronto. I can list them all if you'd like, but here's one of the big ones I noticed:

Toronto - Zurich is at about 560 PAX per day
Zurich - Toronto is at around 320 PAX per day

a 200+ passenger difference is common in a lot of the Toronto-EU routes from what I'm seeing.

KIAD - LSZH - 390
LSZH - KIAD - 260

KIAD - LPPT - 460
LPPT - KIAD - 260

KIAD - EDDL - 330
EDDL - KIAD - 190

I will not state them all, but its pretty much the same for all routes..... so we are far away from the 10/20% that you speak Sami...

PS: We have the same issue on game "The Jet Age"...

I think he fixed it. I'm not running into that problem anymore. At max now the demand difference is less than 15 percent. However, the demand for a lot of the routes dropped significantly. Basically to the number of passengers on the low end (IE: Toronto-Zurich being 560 and Zurich-Toronto being 360. Now, the demand both ways is around 360.)

Yep, i see that too, the request from IAD to ZRH fell down from 390pax to 280pax...

I must to say that i'm very disappointed how Sami solved this question, simply by the fact that i've spent some hours creating strategic and looking for route potential, after that i've placed big orders for new aircraft's to assign to this routes, based on the previous pax request, now i will find myself with more than 50 aircraft's which can handle 350 pax, and where the route RQ is now only 220...

Really disappointing...

Well instead of commenting on it, you can ask him nicely to reconsider.. I'm sure he has reasoning behind his actions.

Well, as much as it was a bit irritating when I had to re-schedule a few of the flights, I'm really impressed sami got on the problem and fixed it so fast. I can understand your frustration though. I'd still prefer it the way it is now.

Well maybe out from Toronto you win something the way it is now, as for flights out of Washington, it means a lost of 25% pax RQ, since that outgoing flights lost around 30% pax RQ and returning flights increased only around 5%... so its quite of a lost...

Well, what I meant was that I prefer it compared to how it was before sami fixed it because the demand both ways is around the same. It was weird and misleading before.

Dallas-Seoul & Dallas-Osaka have about a 20% less than the r/t flight, it may be more asian routes too, or all dallas routes???

Dallas-Taipei also.

DXB-ORD 720 ORD-DXB 590
DXB-EWR 750 EWR-DXB 590
DXB-ATL 690 ATL-DXB 520
DXB-IAD 820 IAD-DXD 690

In AW3 I had this problem mainly with DXB to South America, where my purpose bought fleet of A340 200Xs came back half empty. Checking that now, it seems fixed.

There are few pax that travel between African countries. One has to actually schedule a flight out of Africa but even then, the return route will have less pax. Puzzling :o
