SAPPORO - Today, JapanCommuter received her 100th aircraft. Ilyushin handed over the Il-114-100 turboprop to the Japanese regional carrier. JapanCommuter operates a fleet of Airbus A300 and Antonov An-148 jetliners and Antonov An-140 and Ilyushin Il-114 turboprops.
"With the addition of this Il-114-100, we are continuing the growth of our airline. We are currently busy expanding the fleet, but we have ordered additional aircraft to replace the older aircraft. By the end of 2008, we will have replaced the older Il-114 and A300-600R planes," the CEO said.
A fleet management employee continued: "We are currently working on the future fleet. In the end, we will reduce the number of types to two by having one widebody or high capacity jetliner and a regional plane."
