Liniile Aeriene Romane (LAROM) (English: Romanian Air Lines) introduced a new livery today at a ceremony held at the country's busiest airport in the capital of Bucharest.
The new livery will adorn the recently acquired Dutch-made F27 fleet and the country's first jets, American-made B727s, in three years' time.
While there are rumors that the carrier was pressured to order Soviet-made aircraft such as the IL-18 by the Kremlin, LAROM's management has convinced the country's leaders to look towards the West for its aircraft needs.
This signals the beginning of a new age in passenger air transport in Romania.
