I'm glad to inform that we have today completed the installation of a new web server to our ISP's locations. We have been running three different server machines for a longer time now and this was an upgrade of one of the servers which was the oldest one of them all (backup/IRC server). It has been replaced with a brand new hardware.
This new server has taken over a couple of our other major websites such as Flightforum.fi. We will be also using the new server to balance the loads on this AirwaySim's dedicated server in the future, and it basically means that we are able to run more game worlds at the same time.
However as all is still new to us to as AWS was only released so recently there is some testing and experimenting needed on how much the current games stress the current server and how much extra capacity the new server has.
And now that the installation process has been completed we will continue to debug AirwaySim and slowly also starting to add the new features for the next release version (let's call it v.1.1). The first features in pipeline should be: background calculation optimization, improvement of some alliance features, aircraft pre-scheduling and possibily also totally new aircraft order system. More info on these will be posted later.
There is no timeframe for the updated features yet, nor a schedule for the gameworld #4 opening either. Both will be announced separately.
