Bookkeeping queries
« on: October 20, 2014, 07:32:29 AM »
Hi, Game World #2     SIRIUS Airlines

1. I leased an airplane and aside from the 4 month lease down payment, I should not be paying leases for the first month.  But I do.  The downpayment is deducted from my cash which I cant find on the balance sheet, at the same time I see lease payments from day one.

2. Depreciation - yes, must be accounted for in a balance sheet but:  should not have an effect on your cash.  At the moment it at least seems we seem to pay the depreceation in cash.      Or am I getting something wrong here.   In my opinion the depreceation should only have an effect on the "book" value of your assets.

Details in the manual: http://www.airwaysim.com/game/Manual/Office/Accounting/

1) You are not paying the leases in cash for the prepaid period. The cash already left the account when signing the deal.

2) Same here, you are not paying anything in cash of depreciation.

By the way, rather bold move to go for longhauls with a single IL-62 .. I would guess to say that it really won't work out.  ;)

Perhaps he should double or triple down?

Though, there are many things that I have seen "working" lately that really shouldn't work out. Something like there's a disturbance in the force of things around such airlines.
