Given the scarcity of planes in this scenario, I wouldn't be surprised if no one responded to this request.  Patience my friend.  The UM will start freeing up in a few years as people transition to jets and BK (if fuel rises)

Yeah. Lol. Patience is certainly a key ingredient to have right now. Nearly leased a fleet of Tu-114s but will take the advice given by a friend and yourself and just wait.

TU 114's rape you in fuel and staff costs :P

But they do have a massive capacity and mach 0.74 for a prop????

I'm still using aircrafts with about 2000nm range and then add fuel stops. Just ordered a fleet of about 50 Il18 :)

You can run a big, successful airline for a lot of years on just IL-18s and TU-114s. Though you'll almost certainly need to switch to non-russian stuff for LH flights eventually. Biggest issue with the TU-114 is the extremely slow production rate. I'm sure there are still 2 different feature requests open for different ways to help deal with that.

even russian steel can make you a profit if used wisely, just make sure to watch out for the fleet diversication
