what type of plane are you using as you may find that a lot of that time is spent on the ground at Gatwick in turn-around mode
I assume it is a large plane as the minimum wait time is 70 mins therefore the 1% wait time is likely to be 120 minutes +
e.g so out of your 3hr 45 min return flight, 2 hours is actually spent on the ground

But I had the same route before and it was what you'd expect it to be..

Manufacturer    Airbus
Fleet group    Airbus A300/A310
Model    Airbus A300-600
Size class    Very large aircraft

Not sure if I had the same plane, though. This is a different one I am leasing.. had to sell one cos I was going bust. Lol

Dublin has long taxi times and the A300 has high turn around times.

You most probably spend more time doing taxi and turn-around than actually flying on that route.

So I'm really using the wrong plane?
I didn't realise it would take a plane longer than another type of plane.
I'm guess it's due to their size.
Would you recommend one? Lol

OK I just checked the route....your flight consist of DUB to LGW + turn around time + LGW to DUB

EIDW - Gatwick 1hr 15 mins (75 mins)
Time on ground at Gatwick for an A300-600 to have a 1% turn-around - 1hr 55 mins (115 mins)
Gatwick - EIDW 1 hr 15 Mins (75 Mins)

75+115+75 = 265 Mins or 4 hrs 25 Mins

The minimum turnaround on the A300-600 is 70 mins

75+70+75 = 220 Mins or 3 hrs 40 mins

So you have your turnaround set at 75 minutes which is bad scheduling as you will have a 25% chance of having a cancelled flight, plus the flow on of decreased CI, etc, etc
You should aim to have <8%. I try to always use 1%

There is a little box next to the turnaround time that shows you what the percentage is for the time that you enter

PS - if my maths is wrong its 2am here, so I have some leeway...lol

Not necessarily the wrong plane as it depends on the passenger numbers, the amount of fleet types you have (don't exceed 3 unless you want to pay heavy communality penalties), other routes available where you can use the A300-600 or A300-600R etc, etc

But...that is what the Beginners game is for...learning the game as a newbie and also for experienced players trying new strategies etc.......so keep playing and keep learning

There's a LOT to learn. Lol.
It's soooo detailed, which is cool.. even more so when you get used to how it goes.

Have you read the manual and the FAQ (linked in my signature) at least once very carefully?

A300-600R is a good aircraft out of Gatwick. The huge number of people it can transport for the usage of just once flight rights, fuel, crew etc. makes up against for example three flights in a way smaller aircraft that can be turned faster.

The game is very detailed when you get into it a bit more....which makes for a great game if you are a Strategy / Sim game enthusiast

Best advice I can give is -
1. keep playing the beginners game and the next few beginners games as they are more forgiving and great for learning the game
2. invest a lot of time into reading posts from all the games not just Beginners, as time spent here can save a lot of 'lost time' on playing the game
3. ask questions
4. Once you have the basics nailed down, request a Mentor
5. Have fun
