Blocking seats
« on: July 30, 2014, 04:35:30 PM »
Hi everyone first time post on the forum and have been playing AirwaySim on and off for a while albeit not very successfully.
I'm planning some routes that are around the 1000 to 1700NM with estimated pax demand at 30-50pax. Looking at the aircraft avaliable to do that sort of distance they have seats from 75-100+, Is it possible still to make a decent profit with seats blocked at say 30 on a 75-100+ seat aircraft?

No.

Rule of thumb don't fly longer than 10*pax.  So for a route with only 30 pax you wouldn't want to fly more than ~300nm to get them.

I make profit on owned 727-200Adv on 50-80 pax routes up to 2200nm. However, I would not try to do this with leased aircraft or as a new company and there are more efficient aircraft for such a thing.
