A/c routings
« on: June 23, 2014, 08:44:37 PM »
I was setting up a route with 767-300 MEX-AKL.  It takes over 25 hrs for round trip.  Which means i cant run that flight daily with one a/c under same flight nbr.   But i see another airline doing just that with the same type of a/c.    How can that be done??

Probably using 7-day scheduling. Use 7 aircraft of the same type flying a weekly schedule of say 4 to 6 flights (depending on length). Each aircraft is then 1 day out of sync. The net effect is that each route is flown once each day (although of course it can be more than that if the schedule for the first aircraft flies to the same place more than once in its week voyage).

You can do the same with s/h flights, with say 18 flights per week for the rota.

No its not that. As that would show one line per day.   It shows one flight nbr for 1234567

One flight number for different flights on different aircraft (i.e. 7-day-schedule) was introduced about a year ago.

So, it's exactly that. :)

Only if the flight numbers are different or if the aircraft used is different, otherwise it will be one line.
