Real world events - Gulf war in Kuwait/Iraq
« on: March 03, 2014, 04:23:41 AM »
So, I was getting a lot of oversupply anti-monopoly warnings on my routes to Baghdad at the end of 1990. I guess due to the first Gulf war, pax demand went down to virtually nonexistent over the course of a few months.

But Operation Desert Storm ended in February 1991, and we are now at July 1991. Pax demand is still very very low. Does anyone know when demand will be back to normal?

You are aware of the fact the airport was destroyed and the iraqi national airline ceased operations out of this until 2004 or so?

Or, in other words, look for a new destination to fly to...

Ah, I was not aware... But that explains it, of course. Thanks!

Although the game effect is the same, the airport was not physically destroyed.  Iraqi Airways ceased international flights due to UN Sanctions, and had only limited domestic operations due to the northern and southern no fly zones.
