need some help with creating ULR route
« on: August 16, 2013, 03:23:59 PM »
Hi,

I need some help with creating a ultra-long-range route from my base Bangkok.
I've created more of these routes without a problem but this one is a mystery to me.
The route I've created is a route from Bangkok (VTBD) to Sao Paulo with a tech stop in Lilongwe, Malawi using a Boeing 707.
Distances are pushing the 707 to its limits but in theory it should be possible (i guess).

The longest distance is the flight from Lilongwe to Sao Paulo which is 4555NM.
The 707 I've assigned has a range of 4560NM.

On the flight from Bangkok to Sao Paulo the route information shows 162 seats available which is correct but on the returnflight only 18.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for any tips and tricks.
Making it work would be great. There is more than enough demand but I don't want to add another aircraft type (yet).

Fred

The departure airport on the return leg may not have a long enough runway for your aircraft to depart fully fuelled and with a full cabin. Therefore, the system restricts the payload... In this case to only 18 pax... That's my guess.

Sao Paolo CGH runway is too short. You need to add a further techstop on the return leg, or else wait for GRU to open.

I knew the answer would be simple. That's it.
Thanks for the replies.
