Airport slots
« on: July 31, 2013, 02:48:52 PM »
Hi all,

it's been quite interesting start for the new gameworld. :) However, I'm just wondering how soon we'll get more slots for popular airpots. As it has turned out 7 movements per hour at YSSY where six airlines are based isn't enough. Plus that there are plenty of other airlines operating to and from Sydney and the airport has curfew 23-06. No complaints, just thinking if other players have the same issue - would be nice to hear your thoughts about it.

Slots will continue to grow at a decent rate over the next year or two - and you will probably end up in the 15-20 range before starting a slow growth over time (maybe 1 new set a year)

If I am not mistaken, slot are added once a year - so still need to wait for a while.

Once-ish per year kicks in after the first few years where they go up a bit quicker

Yeah, so I recall from previous gameworlds. Just got the eight slot at YSSY, however the competition is as hard as in real life. Most of the new slots are gone within hours.

If you're questioning the market leader of JFK, I can assure there's no slot hoarding behavior

It's early stage, so you can count his scheduled routes and compare with the slot he's taken, or check his weekly flights if they match number of slots

Randomly calling the police on your competitors is an "interesting" tactic as well.  ???

The man has an unnatural obsession with Supersonic flight....I am rather sure a Concorde will make an appearance sooner or later.

You can, since you are in LHR. Not all airports can. Just follow the instructions linked by Aoitsuki above!
