Tech stop over the Atlantic
« on: July 12, 2013, 03:57:09 AM »
Hi folks,

So, I am dummy scheduling routes from Brazil to Europe, and want to schedule Sao Paulo-London via tech stop in Cape Verde with the Bristol planes I have on order (Bristol Type 175 Britannia Srs. 302). Range is ok (3210 nm) for both legs when I do the tech stop, but the only plane I get as an alternative on the planning page is Lockheed Constellation, which actually has a shorter range of 2700 nm. What´s happening?

the britannica requires a longer runway than the connie so that may be it.  Another possibility is that you forgot to schedule the tech stop on the return leg (i have been guilty of that before).

Being based in LHR, i just tried to replicate that route and had no problem with the britannica so you probably just goofed a little...

I hope you figure it out...

Ah, yes. You are right! Forgot the tech stop on my way back. First time in this scenario, and first time scheduling tech stops. That explains it. :-)
