Embraer E2
« on: June 17, 2013, 11:54:19 AM »
Well Embraer just launched the Ejet E2
With this I would like to plead again for later modern times, as E175 E2 will be introduced in 2020.

More details can be found on Flightglobal
http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/paris-embraer-sounds-battle-cry-with-launch-of-new-e-jet-387169/

Thank you!

Edit:
I'll post more sources here as they become available

For Embraer, winning more of these orders is essential for bridging a five-year gap before the second generation E-Jet arrives in 2018, featuring new Pratt & Whitney PW1700 and PW1900 engines, new wings and a 15% improvement in fuel efficiency.
This is on top of a 3.5% improvement with the next PIP package

I guess the trend is to build wing shapes ala Spitfire, that's fine by me!!!  :)

Completely irrelevant due to it's arrival just as the game ends / after the game ends. Modern Times only run through 2019.

Yeah but the reason it only runs till then is the early start time for the MD90 and no info available at later times.
So yeah I think this is a rather pursuasive reason to extend the game till atleast 2025... Also the 787-10 has just been announced. waiting for correct info on that and the 77x is due to be launched this year. All 2020 flyers....

That doesn't mean it's set in stone.

It does until you have a reasonable expectation of fuel consumption and range.

I was talking about game worlds beyond 2019. I don't think the argument about not adding more aircraft types just because the current game world ends at 2019 is a good one. More data on future aircraft always comes bit by bit. Do you think we should remove the CSeries, the B737 MAX, Airbus A320 neo and the Mitsubishi jets? I can guarantee you that the current game data on those isn't 100% accurate to what the aircraft will be like.

We already know quite a bit about these new Embraers:

E175-E2:
Arrival 2020
Minimum 10% fuel efficiency over previous models
Pratt & Whitney PW1700G
Honeywell Primus Epic 2 avionics
Extended 1 seat row compared to previous model

E190-E2:
Arrival 2018
Minimum 10% fuel efficiency over previous models
Pratt & Whitney PW1900G GTF
Honeywell Primus Epic 2 avionics
Same size as previous model

E195-E2:
Arrival 2019
Minimum 10% fuel efficiency over previous models
Pratt & Whitney PW1900G GTF
Honeywell Primus Epic 2 avionics
Extended 3 seat rows compared to previous model

- All models will maintain commonality with previous generation
- Double-digit reductions in fuel consumption, emissions, noise and maintenance costs
- E-Jets E2 will be capable of achieving similar costs per seat of larger re-engined narrowbody aircraft (B737 MAX, A320 neo), with significantly lower costs per trip.

Seating:

This is the precedent Sami laid out before.   Not my choice...

Currently the game engine doesn't support beyond the year 2020, so an enhancement to the game engine would have to happen before any planes going into service that year can be considered....
