is the beginners world a different passenger demand than the demo world?

i am noticing the demands are lower than the cities i used in the demo world.

Yes, I think the whole passenger demand has been modified and improved  (?)

Also notice that the Demo world is currently pre-9/11 and the Beginner's world is in 2002 (post 9/11) so the much of the demand difference is likely a reflection of that event.

Yep  :)  Real life events are programmed in - for instance, the invasion of Iraq in 2003 reduces international demand out of the country to almost nil.
