Oversupply of routes - Anti Monopoly Bureau
« on: December 20, 2012, 04:04:39 PM »
Dear Sami,

I have opened a rout between EDDH (Hamburg) and BIKF Keflavik (Iceland).
The only plane to fly the distance with, is the B-737-100/200 with a capacity of over 90 seats.
Samller planes do not have the range.

At the same time the anticipated demand is at between 28 and 36 passengers.

Also, there is no other airline flying this route.

In this case I would like to protest urgently against the notice I received from the Anti Monopoly Bureau.

Can you please advise?

Kind regards,

BizFlyer

You can just cap the available seats so that you don't offer more than 200%. I don't think you would make any money on the route though.

On every route edit page you can exactly determine, how many seats should be sold max.Monopoly rules apply whether there is competition or not. Please think of changing demand numbers, so build in an extra safety buffer below the lowest demand number of both directions.
But flying such a long route for only 30 PAX? They wonīt hardly pay for the fuel you need, not to mention any other costs. This route is going to be a looser, no wonder nobody flies it.
