[ok] Perform B check 4 weeks from last B check
« on: October 07, 2012, 09:51:25 PM »
As opposed to performing B checks last 7 days of the month, why not just automatically perform it when a B check is due (4 weeks from last B check).

Advantages:
- eliminate the month end B check cycle of all airlines (no parallel in RL)
- eliminate warnings for lack of B check (when B check is scheduled).

Also, to avoid the warnings, both A and B check should have 1 week grace time, when no warning is issued and no penalry would be due.  This will simplify things, it will elimitate some confusion.  It will simply be that if you have A/B check scheduled, you will be safe from warnings / penalties, regardless of when you scheduled these checks...

Currently, B check on a new aircraft that arrived on 15th will not get triggered on, say 25th of the month, but will be overdue (with a warning) after 15th of the next month...  Under this new enhancement, the B check will simply be performed on the week of 15th of the next month...

I like this idea very much. It brings maintenance action more in direction of reality, where this has to be planned also in regard of available space and staff.

Would be good.

Would let cunning managers minimise the drop in supply on bigger routes, too.

I'd like to spread out B-Checks or, like in reality, let them happen over the short ground time + A-Check of a week without any route loss at all.

A big plus from my side for that.

I like this idea, it would eliminate a lot of bogus warnings thus preventing the real warnings from being missed.
