One way C-class demand
« on: September 24, 2012, 05:19:43 PM »
Hi. In many route pairs from my home base Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) to smaller airports in Norway, there is a certain percentage on C-demand. The other way back the C-demand is zero. How do these passengers get back home? :)

Skiing. Down the slope.

Joke aside, it's a good question.

At least itīs an often recurring question. Because of the general demand calculating system the return demand quite often is different.
System does not calculate each route individually, it takes certain airport data and combines them. So flights from small airports wonīt show any C/F demand regardless.
Especially for LH and C/F demands itīs always clever to check both directions.
This phenomenon will stay until exact city based demand will be implemented.

This is quite annoying for cabin configurations, and it makes no sense at all.

(Except possibly for LAS and MFM, where pax may fly there in F/C but have a bad night and fly back in Y.)

We have to accept it like it is, Sami told us. Some formulas canīt be changed without a major system overhaul, we have to be patient.

If it bugs you, simple. Don't configure your plane with C/F seats ;) or else be patient like the rest of us for this to be improved.

You could just let him know without the attitude. Just saying. I just find it annoying when I see things written like that. ;)
