You gotta be kidding me

Seriosuly, I'm very few bucks away of spending more on slots than planes (overall).

I guess I'll be changing my strategy...

That is pretty normal for any game world these days. Once you lose your new airline discounts, etc, you'll be spending more on slots than planes for a while....

This is what people wanted, really .. To "get rid" of the small planes on big airports (well not entirely, but still .. and this is one way).

(slot costs are some 30-40% higher in comparison to previous MT world)

(and slot costs are of course not plane size dependent, but just meant that 1,2mil for slots when using a C208 for example is not very feasible...)

I think this works fine. People now have to really think about their route strategy and what airplane they put on it instead of flying a route a thousand times with small airplanes.

And yet still airports are sold out, so people must have money to buy themů  :)

It worked for me...

I just wish I'd have known this before starting.. Anyway, as my 1st game I guess stuff like this will happen a lot of times...

Yep, same. Can just be a shock to the system when you temprarily forget that while the next a320 might only cost 2.5 million to lease, it might cost 4 million to schedule. :P

I can't agree on this.

Sure it's fine when using big metal, but if you wish to run a local airline out of Jersey or Isle of Man with EMB 120's your screwed up.

Your slots at Isle of Man cost practically nothing.... And if you ever wish to fly to LHR you need 7 slots. But it's better not and fly to LGW instead or something that way. (or LCY even)

Guys, the costs are based on the size of the airport.   Your 50th LHR slot will cost tons more than your 200th at Isle of Man

But if you want to do that, you won't be paying 1 million for a set of slots. In fact, I doubt you'd even be able to reach 50k for a set. Back when this system first came in, I worked up to 70 planes in Baku. I even opened a bug report because I thought slots were so cheap. With 342 slots already owned by me, a new full set for a week was still under 3k, it was mid-90s gametime. So if you build an EMB airline in Jersey to the point you have 50 daily flights, you should still be looking at maybe 10k to schedule the next plane, basically nothing when compared to the 400k initial lease price.

Also if you want to fly into a busy airport, slots will be significantly cheaper. In MT, I currently have 1 daily flight to EDDF. To start a 2nd one, I'd only need to pay ~200k, depending on time of day, much cheaper than the 1 million+ charged to Ezzeqiel, because he already owns 189 slots.

7 days worth of slots at my base cost $1,680.  ;D Stay off the beaten path if you don't want to get charged millions.

BTW... Just a little "update".

I can't imagine how much those slots would be at LHR...

I think that even this 1.6M is dirt cheap considering the fact that you "own" the slots for 20+ years... it will pay for itself in couple of months...
