Launch Customer not first?
« on: July 17, 2012, 09:46:35 PM »
Ok, so yesterday I got the Launch Customer -10% for the DC-10-30
I was listed as first plane on the 11th!!!
I was very first to order!  I ordered the same game day launch was issued.

today I check and I'm 6th in line...?? and its the 20th now??
why? :'(

I think the first ones go to ingame leasing companies, they know of launch before you do.

Actually, are you sure you did not get bumped from the 6th of June to the 20th of May? There was a production increase from 14/month to 19/month. In the case of an increase, an existing order normally gets pushed forward, not back, so I would expect that you are getting your first DC-10-30 16 days sooner.

this does not explain why I was bumped to the 6th production DC-10-30 that's being released, Aero Mondial, only ordered 2 and that was after me. yet now they are first in line

if Sami checks the order logs from yesterday you will see  I was first. I was bumped back from the 11th to the 20th on the list

my order is already off the list as it was on the release day within hrs, on 11th.
http://www.airwaysim.com/game/Info/News/Orders

yet his is later and now 1st for delivery?

is it anal to argue over 9 days? yes and no as thats  over a week hence a companys 2nd plane in game could have been delivered, but it also defeats the purpose of being a launch customer if your getting the 6th plane over 9 days later...

The important thing about launch customer is really the discount. The other is just for fanfare IMHO.
And I believe the launch customer for the A380 was Emirates but it was Singapore the first one to operate it, but I could be very possibly wrong.

In AWS to qualify for Launch Customer, you need to be the first one to order more than 5 a/c of a type. So if the other airlines before you just ordered 1-4, they will still get the earlier slots, but you get the 10% discount, and the Launch customer "honor".

cheers,

I was the FIRST one to order ANY DC 10-30.  I also made sure I ordered 6 A/C direct purchase in one order.

AKA: I was 1st airline to order 6 DC-10-30's, and it showed correctly yesterday.

there was some sort of order sorting error last night/this morning

UPDATE: seems to me the 11th (the date of that showed would be my 1st A/C delivery last night) dissapeared and I got bumped back to the next open slot

If you think it is a bug you should report it as such. I don't know if Sami really looks in these forums that often.

Is the DC10 really building 18 units per month in their first month??? that's amazing.

Also, you actually are getting the 12th DC 10 in May in the 2nd pic versus the 13th in the first one.

And in both pictures, you are getting the 12th DC 10 made.

First DC10-30 Delivery is the 12th So he has not moved interms of delivery of DC10-30. Which is the Argument.

when I did the launch purchase the build date for the FIRST DC10-30 was the 11th, MY first A/C was 11th, then (I believe a shift in the DC-10-10's dates? caused the launch 11th for the DC 10-30's to be a NON build date, everyone shifted forward, and since my date 11th was a NON build date I was replaced on the next available date 20th,  then ANOTHER shift occurred and I bumped back another date... evidence provided on the screen shots sorry I never got a screen shot of the launch didn't know I'd need it.

it is a bug, however I believe Sami is correct to fix this would be more of a headache in the code then the one player it may effect, but could you at least look into the viability of a time stamp of a A/C purchase to secure the sort?

ADDITIONALLY: IRON HORSE AIR  WILL BE FILING A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT against McDonnell Douglas, we believe 50% of one DC-10-30 cost would be a fair settelment as we lost the ability to bring on one 1.4 Aircraft in the time frame error

This was what happened to me when the DC 9-30s came out I was the launch customer
then a little while later took delivery of the 8  or 9 off the line....

hershey

here is the press release

Dirtys upset with McDonnell Douglas
06-May-1969
today we found out that being the launch customer of the DC 9-30
does not mean we will get the first airframe of the line , for some
reason we are being bumped down to the 4 airframe while we are not
very please with this as we have 49 on order and we operate close
to 84 DC 9-10 , we where unable to convince the higher ups  at
McDonnell Douglas , we are now looking at a new provider of  long haul
and looking forward to dealing with other operators

thanks for your time
