What happened here?
« on: June 22, 2012, 05:21:34 PM »
This is the oldest airline in the game, and for years, it seemed like his LHR slot-hogging strategy (controlling 35% of the slots while flying only 25% of the pax) was working so well! So...what happened?

Well... have you checked their C/I?

It probably caused by flying a/c without doing proper checks.
Then the government grounded their a/c, which badly affected their C/I.

He also stacked 4-6 flights on top of each other (exact same departure and arrival times), with low load factors, apparently just to lock up the time block so that no one else could get slots to schedule at that time.

It's time if you are looking for slots at Heathrow.

London Airlines has been closed down today by its creditors. Due to the big debts of the airline the bank has taken over the operations today and closed down the airline. All operations of this airline are ceased, all staff will be fired, and all assets and aircraft are returned to their owners or to creditors.

London Airlines operated from London Heathrow (EGLL / LHR) airport and had a fleet of 178 aircraft in operation at the time of the closure.

And, it appears that UK Airlines is the new London Airlines. Locking up 22.1% of the slots, to carry only 8.4% of the air traffic.

It is shown in a pie chart at the bottom when you view airport slots.
