issue with dc10s not flying routes with tech stops.
« on: June 17, 2012, 08:34:27 AM »
Hi

I have an intermittent problem with my some dc10s not flying routes.
I have 7 dc10s on tech stops of 4 routes each a week. So all routes are supplied over the week. Some of the routes are been flown and some aren’t. I have checked the cancellations and no aircraft are being cancelled there just not been flown. The flights which are running have little or no delays so the problem is not there either.
On 4 of the 7 aircraft the same 3 routes each week are not being used. The other 3 dc10s routes are fine.

Any help?

B check weeks ;) every last week of a month you have B-checks, which don't appear as flight cancellations. The flight is just not flown ;)

no its nothing to do with servicing. i have had the 7 aircraft for over 4months.
this is one of the aircraft which with 3 routes not being used.
Avg LF %

WT2085 / WT2086, KATL - RJOO  0.0 %
WT2099 / WT2100, KATL - ZBAA  0.0 %
WT2113 / WT2114, KATL - OTBD 68.7 %
WT2127 / WT2128, KATL - RJAA 0.0 %

and this is identical flights times but on differnt days

WT2073 / WT2074, KATL - RJOO  50.7 %
WT2087 / WT2088, KATL - ZBAA  64.6 %
WT2101 / WT2102, KATL - OTBD  57.8 %

yes, it is the combination of B checks and route being flown only once a week. The data will appear there in due time.

hi guys

there is no data for the whole 3-5 months that i have had some of the DC10s. for example on the aircraft infomation page where it states previous weeks profits there is none for 3 out 4 routes on several of the aircraft. i can understand one or maybe two routes within the first month of the having it delievered.

for some reason the flights i had created didnt register. they were identical to routes which did register. so i just re created them and now they work. so confusing problem with a simple solution

I had a problem once where routes I thought were being flown regularly just lost their slots.  I don't know why this happened - maybe just a combination on C-Check, then a random cancellation or two, then another check etc...  Anyway, the upshot was that the routes didn't get flown for several months afterwards and I didn't know.  It's best to periodically check the "Routes / Manage Routes / Notification View" page.  This will show any routes not being flown, even if they are assigned to an aircraft.  Otherwise they can be difficult to spot.  It's not an issue with daily routes (you'd be VERY unlucky to have it cancelled for a whole two months!) but with 7 day scheduling, only one or two cancellations, combined with regular maintenance, can cause this.
