Replacement for my DC-6B
« on: April 17, 2012, 06:38:26 AM »
What can be a good replacement for my aging DC-6B's?

I do need the range of 2500 NM and the capacity!

Do I need to wait for the 727 or are there any other suggestions?

Looking forward to your opinion about this.

Thanks,

RVH

727 isn't a range bird.  Choose from what is out there.

Consider the mission of your DC6Bs.
B707 and DC8s are Very Large Planes so you will need new pilots, however that is the only way to go intercontinental (Tu-114 is also a very good option but is also a VLP).

For long range domestic the Comet 4C can fit your goals.
The 727 will also eventually have that range, but not until the 200ADV model; although the 100 is relatively long ranged as well.

Vickers VC10 and later Super VC?
They are large only, decent range, reasonable seating capacity.
