Pax figures SYD-MEB
« on: March 11, 2012, 08:05:38 AM »
The pax figures for Syd-Meb are extremely low. 280 compared to Syd-Bne 1400 or SYD-Gold Coast 650.
Sydney and Melbourne are Australias largest cities and even in the 1950s, this was one of the worlds busiest air routes. (4th busiest today)
Brisbane on the other hand was a bit of a back water and the Gold Coast was a small holiday resort right up till the late 70s.
Syd to Meb pax figures need to be increased by at least another 1000. :)

Actually, I know exactly what you're talking about. This site does the same thing with LAX-SFO. They give you 90 seats (even less in a JA scenario) in most games when it should be well over 400-1000 in any post 1960 time period. It's been the worlds busiest air corridor for decades. ::)

This tends to happen on domestic flights where both cities have strong international demand I think.

Actually they are just as much commuter routes, just like driving your car to work. Done that LAX-SFO and LAX-PHX.

Sydney wouldn't be able to handle the extra demand as it is anyway. It is ranking second busiest in the sim at present. Most of the slots are filled.

Besides in the 1950s Air travel was not very large in Australia full stop.

Not only that ^,

When Melbourne Tullamarine opens the demand will be more than it is to Brisbane. But it won't open until 1970 or something. (This is judging by past JA games)
