90 pilots????
« on: December 24, 2011, 05:14:46 PM »
Hello guys, I m using 2 Tu-114 on 1 route and I need 90 pilots for that. I think this is ridiculous or maybe there is a strange explanation who knows?  :o

Have you had any other a/c before these two Tupolevs? If so, they could probably be pilots left behind from the old fleet groups.

Takes 5 pilots to fly the plane, so 90 pilots for 2 planes works out to ~20 hours a week per pilot sitting behind the controls, plus whatever work they do off the plane, plus coverage for shift changes/holidays/etc/etc. Seems reasonable, and you won't need 45 per plane as the fleet gets bigger.

I don't think it is strange at all. My first few 3 pilot Britannias back at the beginning of the game took 27 pilots for each plane. Your TU-114's need 5 pilots, so 45 seems to fit in the pattern (9 pilots on the payroll for each seat in the cockpit) as my 767's in DOTM3 each add 18 pilots the the staff!
