Flying to every country in Europe
« on: September 23, 2011, 01:37:28 PM »
The Flying Romanovs had plans to operate into every single European country, but I've discovered that there's only one country that you can base in & do that, and it's not actually in Europe.

So, we're now flying to every proper country in Europe. And the UK too.  :P

Go on then, I'll rise to it... please elaborate. You know you want to.  I can't think of any particular country in Europe you couldn't fly to from, say Germany, France etc.

Of course it depends if you class the principalities as countries (Liechtenstein, Andorra etc.) .  If it doesn't have an airport, you can't fly to there!

Actually, I didn't think of countries without airports. I'm just going by whatever AWS considers to be a country with an airport. It lists 41, as of 1994, including places like Gibraltar. Northern Cyprus is one of them, with just Ercan airport, and the only demand from there is to Turkey. The game also considers Turkey to be 100% in Asia.

If I remember correctly I was flying to every country in Europe from Switzerland (Zurich Kloten) before I closed my account (even to places like Northern Ireland, Wales etc).

It's not a problem of demand. IRL since Northern Cyprus is not recognized by any country but Turkey, flights towards Ercan actually have to make a stopover in mainland Turkey.
