I'm in need of help
« on: August 29, 2011, 06:13:17 PM »
Hello CEO's !

I'm Intertint. I've played this for I think about a year now, but understanding the game remains a problem.
Please don't send me to that famous tutorial here on the forum; I read it over and over, I just can't be
succesfull.

When I start an airline, I follow the instructions to stay at 1 aircraft type untill 20 aircrafts. I start 1 route
and stick to it untill making some profit.

I'm now based at San Antonio, after bankruptcy for 4 times. I choose this because it has no other airlines
based there; and the passenger demand is high for some airfields.

I purchased an Embrear. Problem; I only make around 600$ problem per flight!

---

This was the result for all my previous airlines, and I'm starting to get really sick of it and wasting my money!

So please guys, can you give me so good point-to-point tips that can make my airline ALMOST better than yours?  ;D

Thanks in advance!

P.S.: i prefer europe

you can upload photos directly from your drive... click on the + additional options below the text box of a post.

And sorry if my guide didn't help you.

First picture is how I like to see my schedules.

San Antonio is in the center of the USA and it is very tough to find good redeye flights (those that take off before 2300 and land after 0500).  So, feel free to fly any time of day or night.  What I would suggest is that you only do those bad flights to high demand (or low) demand cities.   Chicago is one good example from your base.

Make sure you have 65+ minutes between your flights.  I mean ALL of your flights.  So if your plane returns at 0500, the next flight out should be 0605.  Many players forget to always have enough time between ALL of these flights.  There is no shame in the small white gaps you will see below.

hm, seems that you restarted your airline just when I was about to take a look at it and say something.  :P I would guess a bit more patience would also help since now others didn't really even get to analyzing the airline before you called quits?

For the present airline, I'd say that you should get a couple of more 737s, add C class seats to them, make schedules more tighter (increase utilization) etc.

Hi,

Thanks for that advice swiftus, i'll try to remind and work with that tip.

For Sami,

I discovered this airport which had a lot of passenger demand to the big City's out there, so I inmidility chose it.

Anyways, how can I get more 737's of the same fleet type, while there are none avaible at the used market nor new market?

it may be tough at this point in the game.  Be patient.  Don't expect to be a big airline.

too many players lack patience.  the first two real weeks of a game you should expect to do very little.

There are plenty of people who are willing to help.  Before quitting next time, i'd suggest looking at the forums and reaching out to someone.  People here are generally helpful.

Alright, next time I will stay longer and be patient; at least try to.

Right now, I will stay at this airport and see how things work out. Then, if you guys are able to and want to, you can try to help me out from that point.

And I will check the used market generally now for 737 3's, 4's and 5's, but I will not buy them if they're over 20 years of age.

you should never ever have a 15 year old plane (or older) for long.  If you pay for a C check in one of those, you will lose most of your annual profit.  Only lease those planes for as long as it takes to replace it with something better.... either that or start with younger planes.

That will be a big obstacle, as the 737's of my fleet type aren't young anymore, are not for sale anymore and on the used market sale I have rarely - never - seen them in this gameworld.

I am just sad that you waited 18 months to start asking questions!

Well, haha, I didn't PLAY for 18 months, it was more like: play 2 weeks (didnt work), quit for 2 months and try it again. I asked once before, and it helped me back then, but I think thats too long ago. I was making 30000$ per route back then, which was my highest ever.

But now and desperate and really want to finally get an A380 haha. So thats why.

As for today, I did  see some  changes.

+] My LF rised with 150%, first 18% which is now ~50%.
+] My profit rised from -2000 to +6000.

-] My incomestatement says I still lose -200000$ per week.
-] Fuel is probably the biggest problem. Costs: 300000$ per week.

Tixet sales each week: 290000$

Current Progress

Today, I regularly checked my stats every 4 hours or so. I've seen some significant changes, most in the profits.
Still, it's far from enough to earn some profit.

I've managed to buy 2 more 737's of my fleet, which aren't very old yet. Couldn't get any lower ones. I now got
routes to Denver, Chicago, Atlanta and Seattle. I got the routes all to myself.

The first aircraft goes to Denver;
The second aircraft goes to Chicago;
And the thirth aircraft goes to Atlanta and Seattle.

See pictures!

You could easily add a third daily flight to each of the planes.

And I hope you added the C class seats too as you should find ways to increase your incomes. All Y is difficult..

No I can't, because my airport is closed between 22 - 06. I already tried to change some things, but I didn't managed
to do it.

You need to fly those overnight.

Take off at 1955... land somewhere.  Have a LONG layover there and arrive back after 0600

Ah d*mnit.

Well, I'm willing to BK and start all over... Can you suggest me an airport then?

EDIT:

I can try Doha Qatar OTBD.

There are 2 airlines based there, one is not active and the second only has 1 route.
