Extreme Frequencies
« on: August 19, 2011, 06:27:18 PM »
Is there any way to combat someone who is operating an insane frequency on a route - they have just moved onto my sole route (having just started fresh) with 15 flights per day (at upto 15 mins intervals) with Q400s. (I have a single A320)

I don't really want to go bankrupt again (as I've already used 4 or my 5 'lives') - is it best to just give up the route or to stick it out and hope they bankrupt themselves?

15min intervals do not work anymore here. Unless we talk about a route with thousands of pax per day.

Nor does the frequency really, I have observed it operating a fleet of Q400s here.
For example: http://www.airwaysim.com/game/Routes/Planning/MMUN/KMIA/   (he has 4x A319-A321, I have 6x Q400; he supplies about 150 seats more with bigger planes & less frequency and transports 60% of the pax)

But 15 vs 1, he is bound to have more of the marketshare.

I've currently got a single A320 making 5 trips per day... just need to get it back into profit. Was hoping to build some revenue before expanding further with a second bus :)

I also feel I should point out that you have overlapping flights there, Sami! 1610 and 1630 departures on a 620ppd route  ;D
