Trying to find the ideal replacment for 732
« on: July 30, 2011, 08:06:57 AM »
Just like the title said.... ;D

I've browse the aircraft page and come up with 2 strong candidate in mind. I've kicked out the 32S and 737, can't wait that long!
1. 717
2. Emb-190

Well,what do you think? :)

Wait longer and go for 737/A320.

It's like if you cut your finger and to go for help you ask better visit a butcher or a coroner :-> At the end both will make it worse than right now.

717 carries more pax and burns less fuel than the biggest AVRO.

which can easily be absorbed by having an all boeing fleet for commonality purposes and almost no one has engine commonality with Honeywell.

There is no manufacturer commonality and engine commonality is this extreme low, it is never ever in any point an argument for or against an aircraft.

However, 717 has the problem of high fuel burn for less pax and only one aircraft in the fleet while the Avro-Jets are too small for their fuel burn. At the end of the day you have the choice between several props, standard narrowbodies like A320series/737 or wait several years for better regional jets - but that's nothing I suggest.

Id say just always get on the list for new a/c and dont pray that the used market will provide for you.  There are 600 players.

Depending on how many 732s you have, the EJets could be a bad move, as you'll have to fire all your pilots and hire new ones since EJets use medium pilots and 732s use large pilots.  If you only have a few, that's not too big a deal though.  That said, you'd want to wait till the E195 for an EJet I'd think.

You could use the 717s as an interim type until the CSeries launches, which would save you firing pilots and buy you some improvment in fuel consumption.  Depending on how short your routes are, you could even put HD seating in them and not have a drop in pax compared to the 732 with standard seating.  Or you could get in line for A320s or 737s, though at this point you're waiting till '06 or '07 for deliveries of those unless you catch a gap in the line after someone bankrupts.

I'll reiterate that the Avro RJs are a bad choice.  They burn more fuel than a 717, hold less pax, have less range, and cost more.

Unfortunately, there aren't a whole lot of other options for 732 replacement at this point in time.

If there are E175/190/195s around, go with that. In MT4 they served me very well, and if I can transition to a fleet of them later on in the game I will.  Their secret is incredibly affordable maintenance costs, and a good fuel burn. Plus, if you have a nextgen CRJs in your fleet you have engine commonality across the board.

Ideally I'd be flying those NOW, but we fly the planes god gives us, n'est pas? ;D

Avros are working out okay for me, but I'm hoping to have them dumped before fuel prices start to rocket up...

Well, i have 17 of them. For the meantime, i choose 717. Cause some of my 732 are days away from C-check and its still cheaper to add the 717 than to send the 732s to the hospital  ;D

I used to like the game world earlier when the 733/734/735 line was still open and people were ordering those alongside the 737NG.  Much less wait time for a 737!  ;D  I think it would be cool if we could start a game world with the MD-80/90 lines still open as well, just to get more variety in the world.  Once we get into the later stages of the game, everyone is operating the E-195, 739/a321, 753, and 764.

ugh, exactly why i requested a change for this.  There shouldnt be two different 737 lines going at the same time.
