Modern Times #5 scenario starts this Saturday
« on: July 07, 2011, 04:42:44 PM »
The current Modern Times themed scenario is about to end and according to the normal rotation policy the next game server of the theme will begin shortly. The testing of the new v.1.3 game engine is also nearing completion and we are hereby announcing that the Modern Times #5 game world starts this Saturday (July 9th) at approx. 12.00 UTC.

This game world will start near year 2000 and last for about 20 years allowing the operations with modern jets like the A380 and B787. This scenario will also feature the new improvements of the v.1.3 game engine.

Please remember that the first game day is 24hrs in duration and you can easily join in later during the first days if you are on online during the moment it is launched.

No, that would be 00:00UTC  :) UTC is always expressed in a 24 hour format.

That's what I was thinking.  12 noon - 4 hrs (to get ot Eastern Daylight Saving Time) = 8 am in the morning...

Don't worry too much about getting up early ! The first game day is 24h, and I doubt your competitors will smash the market in half a day !

Only issue will be used a/c ;-)

I think for this game world open slots could be a real problem. It's Modern Times and 1.3 and DotM 1.2 is full most of the time...

Hey Jumbo,

Not that an hour is going to shut you out of MT5 (I hope!), but EST is GMT-5 right now due to Daylight Savings Time, so MT5 will open up at 0700 in our neck of the woods!

Actually it's 800 EDT...will be back to 700 EST in the fall when we "fall back".

I think that EST is GMT -5 normally.  With Daylight Savings Time, it moves to -4.

You are correct , sir! I had it backwards (obviously) for some reason thinking it was -4 in the fall  :-[

On a bright note, though, I am glad I realized my mistake now....as a second shift employee, I would have been royally pi$$ed to wake up at 0700 only to find I have to wait another hour!
