Marketshare calculation error?
« on: May 23, 2011, 10:00:55 PM »
Does anyone saw the difference in marketshare calculation on this game with old game worlds?
For example, I'm flying AMS-AYT route 2 times daily on MD-81, my competitor 1 time daily on DC-10. My CI is 70, his CI is 41. Our marketshare is 50:50.
One another route, AMS-JFK: I have 2 daily flights on DC-10, my competitor 1 on DC-10. Our marketshare is 66:34.

It seems, that CI, RI, frequency and smaller plane factors doesn't affect on marketshare and LF at all... =(

I don't know, I haven't noticed any difference from previous games yet. Are any of you quite new to the route?

What is your RI, and what is your LF on the route?

Like I already replied to your PM, I didn't see anything wrong there.

What is your RI, and what is your LF on the route?

RI is 95 and LF is 65%.

No difference to other game worlds on my side.

But to be clarify;
For example, I'm flying AMS-AYT route 2 times daily on MD-81, my competitor 1 time daily on DC-10. My CI is 70, his CI is 41. Our marketshare is 50:50.

This is normal. He has around 300 seats on that route and you have around 300 there, all aircraft in standard config. He might have a lower market share on economy class, but he serves the first and business class what gives him a high market share there.

As the current share is 58:42 I don't see anything not normal here.

AMS-JFK seems also to be fully ok for me.

Smaller plane was never a factor. It just influences frequency directly. On the other hand frequency isn't this extreme important with just two flights, it gets more important if the difference is bigger.
