Our alliance name got stolen, what should we be doing?
« on: March 10, 2011, 03:48:15 AM »
Our well established alliance in past gameworlds, SkyConnect, has had its name stolen by another alliance. We have repeatedly advertised in announcements.

This is clearly an attack on our alliance.

What should we do?

Complain on the forums about a system that is based on "first come first serve" for airplanes and airline names? There is even an airline name reservation tool. Obviously Sami supports first come, first serve. He built it into the system.

learn to let go. The skies have only one rule, leave your frown at the door.

Maybe there should be a feature where you can reserve your alliance name for credits.

Aircraft -> Configure Aircraft -> Add hardpoints

From there you'll have to hassle around with the Black Market of used air-to-air missiles, but you get the idea. Good luck!

I understand that. What is p***ing me off is that instead of saying, "sorry, we didn't notice/didn't care, is there some way we can help make sure that your alliance works out because this is a GAME," you are saying "we don't care. go F*** off.

I don't appreciate this sentiment.

Can you quote where anyone said that? I'm not seeing that.

SkyConnect stands for dynamism and taking the bull by its horns.  There is no room for standing on the sidelines in this first class alliance.

It's called reading between the lines. It is considered a high school level skill in English.

You have repeatedly mentioned "first come first serve," but you haven't apologized, or even made the simple step of acknowledging that we had an alliance planned with the same name.

That sends the message that you don't care.

What're you talking about??? There already is a SkyConnect Alliance... How could you have planned one too?

Go and read the press releases dating from 3 days ago. Please.

Our management team has been running SkyConnect for 3 gameworlds now.

Maybe you should have thought about that before you let someone else take your name out from under you!

Try adding more staff to your management team, or increasing their pay to improve morale.

make an alliance called "Skyconnect Alliance" instead of "Skyconnect" since they took it.

This is exactly what I mean.

Great idea altmants, thanks

I will have you know that this type of thinking got me an attempted rape charge in high school.

3 gameworlds with the same alliance? I'm quite certain that multidimensional monopolization of airlines is quite an illegal practice and I will be reporting this infraction to the relevant internationaldimensional authorities!

Alright,
I'd like to apologize, because after reading over my posts, I realized that I overreacted a bit. In the past, our alliance has been well, attacked (for the lack of a better word), so we're kinda sensitive to this kind of stuff.

Hey man, don't worry about it. Its a tough world out there and its easy to get riled up, and if you wanna join SkyConnect as a junior air cadet, we will gladly accept a written apology and essay on the importance of being earnest

I am very pleased that SkyConnect is an invaluable brand name that someone will startup an alliance with the same name, try to gain popularity for their super-overrated alliance. SkyConnect gained her popularity from her short history from DOTM and NAC games, with a strong management board and a number of players.

Thanks all of you to let me know how successful SkyConnect is in the previous games.

A friendly reminder,
Please don't make SkyConnect into trash alliance.

Thanks

their super-overrated alliance.

Actually they're the number one alliance in MT4 right now!
