Fidelity to commonality or not? Help me, please.
« on: March 10, 2011, 01:05:24 AM »
My airline is ANA AIR.

A small airline at ATL.

I choose to grow slowly, forced by A320 shortage in used market.

I have 3 A320 and an order to a brand new fourth (delivery will be in march next year).

My strategy is 100% fidelity to fleet commonality.

ANA AIR is generating profit. I think i can resist to fuel price at 700 USD. But i know this ceiling (700) is low.

Please, help me. What do I do? Continue my fidelity to fleet commonality or try some ATR, or Dash-8 or DHC?

Fleet commonality is a joke until you get to 6 different fleet groups.

Fleet commonality is dependent on size of your airline. The larger you are, the more fleet commonality mix can hurt you.

Although I would suggest Do not go beyond 3 Fleet Types. You can go 100% fleet commonality later on. For now, you should worry about getting planes and growing and later replacing them with your A320s

you can have even 10 diff fleet types, you just have to have plenty of them (each more than 20 +) so it works out , as simple as that  ;D
