Surprise Maintenance Increase
« on: January 27, 2011, 01:48:24 AM »
Looking for someone who might be able to explain this...

1.  Maintenance was going at approximately $430K for past several weeks.
2.  Last week just ended with maintenance hitting $920K - end of week, as of Mon, Mar 27, 1989 game time.
3.  Sort on C Check and last maintenance was completed Mar 8.  Next one due Apr 9.  So, C Checks are not the cause, as I can tell.
4.  All maintenance is set to automatic, so nothing triggered manually by me.
5.  No change in aircraft over the period here (i.e. no adds or removes).

What would explain the sudden pop in maintenance?

Monday March 27 is your answer I believe.

The day before it (the Sunday) was the last Sunday of the month, so if your B checks are done on a Sunday, they would have kicked in that day.  You most likely would notice a drop in pax for that week too.

B Checks are done the last week of the month.  So it's always higher on maintenance.  From a dead baseline of nothing more than A Checks roughly double on a B-Check week is to be expected.

Yep...thanks...should have thought of the monthly B Checks.
