European "union"
« on: November 13, 2010, 09:05:49 AM »
Since I haven't been able to find the exact date to when it was possible for airlines to open bases in other countries within the EU, I was wondering that when it will happen in AWS? I know that the first countries within the "EU" were France, Netherlands, West-Germany, Italy, Belgium and Luxembourg and that they found the  EEC (European Economic Community) in 1957.

I am not sure when it happens in AWS but according to wikipedia...

Committed to regional integration, the EU was established by the Treaty of Maastricht in 1993 upon the foundations of the European Communities.

If Sami went with the date of the treaty then you won't see it in JA3.

Yeah, I wasn't sure that if it's 1993 when EU became EU, or would it be earlier. Since it says the following in the base area:
Quote
Base airports can be only created in airports that are in the same country as the airline HQ, or at the same common economic area (EU).
, same common economic area, would be also with the EEC, so it could come to use in 1957 (I know, I know it mentions EU also so that suggests year 1993)

Formation of "EU" itself is very very different from the air travel liberation.

I don't have my docs here but I think it was in 2002?  The correct year is modeled here though.

That would be an obvious bug then. Though no idea how that even can happen still but have to check it.

Obviously Sami is in favor of the Soviet Union taking over the United States. Since mutual destruction was imminent when going the big red button route, perhaps he seeks an economic victory for the Soviet Union. Be warned good people of the free world, Sami's blood runs red and gold!
