Observer Thread
« on: August 27, 2010, 12:07:12 AM »
Would it be possible to give interesting updates on competition, hub battles, stats, etc. for those of us not in the game?  I would love to be able to go into the game and observe, but I can't.  Maybe some of you can give interesting status updates now and again.

Thanks!   :)

Currently Worldlink is winning by a nearly 2 to 1 margin based off Alliance score.

Going by Alliance score the rankings are as follows:

1. Worldlink
2. BIG Group
3. Global Sky
4. Silver Star
5. Skynet
6. Mega Fly
7. Uniteam

Based off Alliance rating:

1. Worldlink
2. Global Sky
3. Mega Fly
4. Skynet
5. Silver Star
6. BIG Group
7. Uniteam

As far as interesting battles goes, ATL looks to be an all out brawl. DFW seems to be fun. LHR and AMS are starting to become dominated airports. LGW has healthy competition even though the market share points another direction.

The battle in CDG seems surprising to me personally. Alot of major airports are still up for grabs. That would include IAH  :o

AMS is far from being dominated, just wait and see  ;)

Well, here's another update since I have nothing better to do at present time:

In continuing with what I started with, here are the rankings as of 8/30/10 - May 26 1997 (game time) btw, the game ends Jan 1st, 2010.

Here are the latest rankings based off alliance score:

1. Worldlink
2. Silver Star Alliance
3. GlobalSky
4. Skynet
5. BIG Group
6. Mega Fly
7. UniTeam

Here is the latest rankings based off Alliance ratings:

1. Worldlink
2. GlobalSky
3. MegaFly
4. Skynet
5. Silver Star Alliance
6. BIG
7. UniTeam

Some changes have happened since last I reported. Bankruptcies have started to claim souls. Worldlink still claims a 2 to 1 score advantage over the closest alliance. However, there overall score has dropped a bit.

I would guess that after another year of warring with each other, we'll start to form sub-agreements with different alliances to help combat airlines who are now starting to run away. It's only a matter of time...

Until next time,

Talentz

(ps  PH1517, do us all a favor and win AMS. Both the LHR and AMS airlines account for a good number of the points for there alliance.)

Are you proposing that people break game rules and gang up against a carrier?

It's called "Alliance CHALLENGE" and not "Alliance having-breakfast-and-hug-each-other".

Anyway it's a big problem to fight each other if everything that would allow fighting is forbidden. One big point why this Challenge so much good players I know can't take serious.

I thought I'd post the actual stats so people can form their own opinions.

Wow. What happened to Uniteam?  Did they start with that few?  I thought the minimum was 10.

This may not be exactly the right 'observation' for this thread butttt....

I've noted on the Global Statistics page there are 355 A320-200s For Sale and/or in storage.

Does anyone know, pray tell, when this bonanza of planes is going to show up in the used a/c market?

(Can you tell I'm desperate for equipment?  And that backlog for Airbus is just too ridiculous...)

Yeah, your 4x bankruptcys give them the 40 negative points. The best move MFW did in the challenge was to kick you.

It would nice to see the actuall point accumulation, not just "cumulative score" and "variable score".

And Cumulative score should be renambed to Cumulative penalty  ;D
