[-] Aircraft registration in foreign countries

(1/1)

TK1244:
In real life, we can see airlines operating own aircraft with foreign registration, for example Aeroflot, which has VP-Bab/VQ-Bab (Bermuda) or EI-abc (Ireland) registrations on Airbus and Boeing aircraft and the whole Air Astana fleet which has P4-abc (Aruba) registrations. By doing so, the airlines are reducing the taxes they have to pay.
For me it would make a big difference if I register my aircraft in e.g. Ireland, where you pay 13% for income tax instead of 34% (income tax in Brazil). This move will allow myself to cut the income tax by more than 50%!!!
Wanted to know what other players think about this feature and if it is possible to allow something like this.

Yours sincerely,

In addition to the subject, how do all the airlines based in Europe with bases in different EU countries register their planes? Cause it should be some sort of the matter.

For example, SkyEurope's aircrafts on Prague base were registered in Slovakia. And as far as I know, all Ryanair aircrafts are registered in Ireland.

The aircraft registration country has nothing to do with the company income tax. Since it's the company that pays taxes, not the aircraft.

AFL registered planes to Bermuda/Bahama/whatever to go around the huge Russian import taxes/customs which they'd need to pay to get plane imported. (that's how I've understood it).

RYR uses Ireland, since that's where the company is from and it's no sense in register planes locally since they operate in EU and have dozens of small bases.

Anyway, does not apply to AWS really.
