Launch date of a good prop
« on: July 14, 2010, 06:15:29 PM »
Hey there,

somebody knows if there launches a good prop during Jet Age? Something like 50-80 pax, >1200nm Range (better 1500nm like Dash8-Q400 ;))?

Fokker F.27 hasn't enough range for me...

Thanks for your help,

I'm not in JA2, but isn't the NAMC YS-11 available to you yet?  If not, look for that to launch soon.  It hauls 64 pax with a range of about 1300nm and speed of about 235 kts.

Actually only hauls 64 pax to 710 NM for the -100 and 760 NM for the -200.  But if you put in standard economy seating (which you should if your going to fly that far in a turboprop) they both can hit 1240 NM with 52 seats.

Would you really want to fly 1000nm+ sectors in a noisy prop?  That's 2,5hr flight time in a modern JET .. so guessing 3,5hrs with a turboprop of that age? ;)

sami, B747-100 coming soon? I've been waiting for it so long but the DC10 and Tristar came out first... It should be out before January 1968 (+/- 18months) right?

I used Dash8-Q400 with Standard First, Standard Business and High Densitiy Economy with full +MTOW in ATB to fly from KLAX to KORD.

Either they fly with this aircraft or they can drive or walk  ;D

Thanks for your tips, the NAMC is not bad, but it can not be configured with first class  :-\

I think it would be very nice if sami can give me some - let's say 500x - Dash8-Q400. Thanks for this!

LOOK AT THE RANGE GRAPH OF THE NAMC.   TAKE 5 SEATS OUT AND THE THING CAN GO ON FOREVER!

Thanks for your help. After checking some launch dates it seems real the most good props launched in the 80s... I ordered 21x NAMC to see if they are ok for my needs.
