[-] Buy aircraft leased from somewhere.
GDK:
I don't know if it has been requested before, but I didn't see it after searching here.
Just a question about buying the aircraft we leasing.
Why we need to pay for cancelling the lease contract since we going to buy that aircraft? The original owner will lose nothing. It is quiet unrealistic that I leased the aircraft for 4 years and I decided to buy it after the 1st year then I got to pay 170% of the aircraft value.

IMO it is realistic as you do breach a contract with the leasing company, which is losing money as they calculate the lease and income over a longer period of time. A plane pays back for itself after 7,6 years or so... A leasing company might be able to lease it out for 19 years, so the AC would pay back for itself, plus generating a good income for another 11 years... now you buy their AC and they lose a hell of a lot of money on that one... Realistic: yes.
JumboShrimp:
Something in-between might be a good compromise. Penalty for terminating the contract (returning the plane early) should probably be higher that it is now.
Offering the leasing company to buy a/c should have lower penalty - but some penalty should still be in place. Maybe it could be like getting the loan: You request buying the a/c, and leasing company comes back with price.

I don't understand.
Are you saying that the leasing company will fly the plane after my contract expire? And if I'm going to buy that, they will not be able to fly and 'lose a hell of money'?

Yes that is basicaly the idea. If you buy it there can not be someone else who will lease it = less profit. They but the a/c and if they sell it, where is the profit for them?
