Right Jet for Expensive Fuel Era
« on: July 06, 2010, 11:03:53 PM »
My airline sis making about 700-800K per week running fewer than10 Saab 2000s. Extremely profitable even if oil 2x.

I am wondering what type of jets will be good when oil hits near $1000??? 757s? 734s? I think the smaller the plane and the longer the flight, the less profitable.

In terms of capacity, is it A321 or B737-900ER should be the most efficient jet  ( the smallest fuel consumed per pax )?

The B739ER is approximately ~3% more efficient on a fuel/pax basis compared to the most efficient +4 MTOW version of the A321, and has slightly more range as a bonus.  On the flip side, maintenance is slightly more expensive and it requires 1 additional cabin crew.

no jet is really that hit.
props use less fuel, but they are slower.

so. just time to wait, that the price goes down.......
(or time to get bankrupt........)

I was wondering about that (prices going down).  Are the prices in the game completely random, or do they roughly follow historical prices?  Historically, there was a peak in mid 2008, with prices more than doubling compared to previous year or two...
