Author Topic: What does the game consider one of the worlds busiest airports?  (Read 1353 times)

what are the worlds largest airports?
I'm setting up my long haul expansion, with a leased 767-400ER.
Iím based in Bali, and looking to fly to Miami for instance.
The range on the 764ER isnít enough to travel the 9000NM to Miami so I must schedule a fuel stopover.
Hawaii is the only logical location for this; however the only airport that can cater for the horrendous runway requirement of the 764 is Honolulu. Unfortunately the game considers this as one of the worldís largest airports; so my question is what does the game consider one of the worlds 'largest airports'?
According to ACI's 2008 Full year stats, Honolulu isnít in the top 30 airports in terms of pax movements.

HELP!

cheers,
Mitch

on the way a magical island named "Guam" appears and the problem is solved. ;) (unless of course the range from Guam doesn't work out in which you're SOL. ;D) if not, Hilo International (ITO/PHTO) is there and caters that aircraft nicely. ;)

Believe me, I've heard of this magical "guam" you speak of.
Unforutnately the 764ER has a range of 5480NM in the config im operating, so PHNL is the only place i can stopover without a capped pax load.
For the life of me i still cannot see how PHNL is one of the worlds largest airports.

And make sure you're doing the Routing correctly.

You actually have to do the route backwards, and not like how the instructions state.

So you should pick Hawaii FIRST, then pick Miami SECOND.

I think the real problem lies within trying to fly a 9000nm route with a tech stop....  ???

hahahahahahahahaha, probably:P
i've found PHKO as a suitable replacement.
Still however, it's capping the pax to 238.
Im wondering though, In the particular config im operating the range is increased 250NM over that of the standard config bringing the total range to 5480NM on a route of 5509NM, is the game assuming that I'll operate an aircraft using the standard config? Im sure that an extra 29NM couldn't hurt:P

I don't think you can make much profit on such an extra long haul route...
