What happened with Baghdad routes? - passenger demand went almost to zero. Is that the first Gulf War?

I suspect so. I noticed but did not withdraw my routes yet.

It's also probably resulting in the fuel price spike.

Yes I have to guess that the crazy fuel prices are linked with SDA! I only hope, that they go down again before they kill me...

If oil prices hold to history, things should normalize at lower levels by March 1991.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oil_price_increase_of_1990

Quote
The 1990 oil price shock was milder and more brief than previous oil crises, lasting only 9 months, and contributed to the early 1990s recession. The price increases occurred after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on August 2.

If you go simply by that quote, it'd by May.

I was going off of a graph in this article:

Specifically, this one - I could be off by a month:

The actual shooting war was over at the end of March 1991, and if I remember correctly, the oil prices started dropping again around then.

The scenario has custom fuel prices, so there's no saying when it'll go down.

as sigma points out, oil prices are custom so there is no relation between the Gulf War and the price of oil in this game unless I'm mistaken. The Gulf War is responsible for the falloff in demand to Baghdad. I would assume that demand will return to pre-war levels in March or just after. I currently have a 150-seater flying with 4 people on it, so I hope that's the case. Does anybody have any past experience on demand to baghdad following the war? How quickly and to what levels does it come back?

This along with ATB I believe, is the first time Baghdad has been included in the worlds.

I compared the demand (when I was still in ATB) and it doesn't seem to return after the gulf crisis - http://www.airwaysim.com/forum/index.php/topic,20135.0.html

That would probably be the results of the UN sanctions and subsequent war and insurgency.

I think it will not comeback until 2003/2004? ;)
