[ok] Anamolies when Upgrading Existing Order

Sigma:
I have 3 x A300 orders that are upgradeable because of their time to delivery.  So I decided to upgrade them from -200 to -600s.

The first one I upgraded I thought was highly odd that it was so cheap.  It only charged me only a measly $4K per month increase in lease fee.  The price of a -600 is a solid 10% more than the plane I had on order, and commands a lease price about $80K higher, so I was expecting a price somewhat close to that -- I basically got the -600 variant for almost no upcharge at all.  A steal.

So I went to upgrade the 2nd one and decided to see what would happen if I tried the -600R version.  It should cost me about $100,000 more per month.  But, no, it charged me exactly the same price as it did for upgrading to the cheaper -600 version, still a tiny $4K/month -- about 1/25th what it should have.

So then I went back to the first one, and tried to upgrade it from a -600 to a -600R.  Then it finally worked correctly, that upgrade was going to cost an extra $70K/month, as it should.

So, I can't speak for any other plane models, but there's clearly a problem when upgrading from A300-200 models to A300-600s ('regular' and R versions).  It charges you almost no extra lease per month.  But upgrading from A300-600 to A300-600R works as it should.

I have left my three orders so that they can be manipulated to view this easily sami, including the 3rd A300-200 which hasn't been touched.  The first order, for a -600, you can change to a -600R to see that change.  The 2nd order is a -600R, you can see that I'm being charged exactly the same rate as the -600 that's only marginally higher than the -200, and a -200 that you can attempt to change to both a -600 and -600R to see that change.

sami:
The system counts the order value backwards when editing and it's a bit bad system... I will update it later as there are two other minor bugs involved too.

Sigma:
So... from now on if you want the more expensive -600 or -600R you should just buy a -200 and upgrade it and save yourself more than $10M per plane?

I will weigh in.

I just made a "range setup" for my A342s.   If I change the current setup of my ordered A/C, it will cost me an additional $180k per month.  All I am doing is telling Airbus that I want XXX different seats on a plane that I am not expecting for almost 4 years.

This definitely needs changing.

Ile:
If you lease order for example B767-200 with 3700nm range, and then change your order to direct purchase, you need to pay only the price of this B767-200 with 3700nm range. This is OK.

At the same time you can make another adjustments too, for example you can change it to B767-300ER with 6200nm range, and still with the same price!
