Roughly, but with over 4M in weekly plus, I'll be fine...

I feel you there.  I am making good money myself and am thankfully not living at all off of the used market.

I just leased a Tupolev Tu-114. It's an old plane, so it's cheap, but it has amazing range and a decent number of seats. I hope it doesn't crash and burn!

Hmm... I've always heard to stay away from Russian Aircrafts. Are they actually feasible?

Hmm, I leased it thinking I would be excluded from a C or D check. But the C is up in 9 months. That stinks.

there is always a C check every year.  I hope to god you got a 1 year lease and you dump the plane before it comes due for one.

it may, it may not.  we all learn hard lessons in-game.

I once leased a bunch of 744Ds which ruined me.  I even had comfy seats and still everyone flocked to other planes.

Sometimes it's a good idea to lease old used planes for 1.5 years. You must do one C-Check, but at bottom line you'll earn money. I think this could work with russian planes, too.

Edit:
@ swiftus27

Do 744D have a worse rating than 744, 743 or similar planes?

Im sure he was killed by frequency more then anything else. Dropping 10x daily on a 747SR is worse then flying it half full.

I always thought the Tu-114 was the best Russian aircraft. (Compared to others of its time). After hearing the Russians complain about Russian aircraft ... I figured they needed something to be proud of ... thus I helped bring it into the database.

I mean, they have to have at least one good thing to drink to, right?  :P

the 744d .... d means domestic...  very short range and only makes money when pretty full.  REALLY long turn time for a plane not used internationally.  Not like you need to restock the plane when the flight is under two hours....

this plane is only necessary when you are based in Haneda/Narita, LHR, or Hong Kong.  If there is more demand and NO slots, this is the only way to serve those pax.... and also the only reason it makes sense to make a short range cattle car.

sometime I think LCC may learn something from 747SR/744D......550seats in 1 jet, just like moving cargo around :P

it is too big except for HKG-TPE or routes leaving HND, maybe domestic routes for PEK too. This is more-or-less a custom made plane for East Asia ;)

at lease in the real world it works fine ;)

and in AWS, according to when I and my friends tried at HND, if you can get it at lease 80% L/F and 3 round trips, it can print cash for you

thats the hard part with the game, though.... people prefer to fly smaller planes.

I never use 747SR/744D in game, even in JA2 which was far before the new system introduced; what I use was A300B2 with all HD F7C24Y288, really evil to pax right? ;)
(But that's mainly because I know I'll move to NRT in 4 years, I don't want to get anything I can't use or hard to use in an international only airport)

The 743 fitted out to 510/40/5 works WAY BETTER than the 744D. Attached is my profits with a short-range 743 operating shorthaul European routes out of Dublin in DOTM.
