Fleet Commonality

About the fleet ommonality... A started to look for those costs.. Then i replaced my Tu-114 for Boeing 707.. Because i have some B747 for long range routes..
My question is.. Since B747 and B707 are different planes, they have separated fixed costs.. But since them both are from Boeing, are those costs lower than if i had a similar aircraft from another manufacturer, like the DC-8?
So, was that a good choice, to replace the Tu-114 for the B707? (The 707 ordered haven't arive yet, so i am still expecting..)

Manufacturer-level commonality isn't taken into account in this model yet. As I doubt it has any real benefits on larger scale.
