Buying new or used planes
« on: April 24, 2010, 01:20:20 AM »
Maybe I'm just too old fashioned but it seems impossible to buy a plane, even when I've finally got my little Great Plains Airline cashflowing nicely. In the old days, when I was in banking, you paid for a plane the same way you paid for a car, with a loan which you paid back while it was making money for you. Am I missing something in the rules? :-\

You can buy a plane when your company can afford it. Generally speaking it takes a long time before you can buy one.... So I would get a loan and find some bargains on the lease market.

If you're financiall solid enough, you can take out a loan and purchase a plane. But generally the lease-purchase financing has not been implemented yet. For now, we have the option to take out a credit and pay for the plane.
